Linux powered coffee roasting

At the end of my LCA talk this year I forgot to show the final slide, which had the links to the code for the USB preload and pyRoast.

So if you want to try adapting the USB preload code for your own project, the slides of my talk may be useful

Great conference!

LCA2011 was a true triumph under extraordinary circumstances. The organisers pulled off a miracle to get the conference moved to a new venue at such short notice, and still left us with a fantastic LCA.

The most memorable moment for me was in Jon Oxers talk – the “come hither” gesture with the kinect to bring the AR.Drone towards him was truly inspired. Wonderful stuff!

Congratulations to the organisers, and also to all the speakers, helpers and everyone else who make the conference a success.

See you all in Ballarat next year!

Another brilliant LCA!

The last week at LCA has been amazing. It was a heady combination of great technical talks, geek hackery, fantastic social events and fun discussions.

I think the key to LCA is the amazing volunteers who run it. The combination of moving the conference between cities each year along with enthusiastic volunteers from the FOSS community makes for an incredible conference year after year.

Thank you to everyone who made LCA 2010 in Wellington such a success. If you missed it, then make sure you don’t miss next years LCA in Brisbane. The highlight of every year for me is LCA, and I am so grateful that we have such a great community of FOSS hackers in Australia and New Zealand to make it possible.

Cheers, Tridge
